Corridor · SW Ontario – SE Michigan

The busiest cross-border trade region in North America.

More than 25% of all US–Canada trade flows through the Southwestern Ontario and Southeast Michigan corridors — Windsor-Detroit, Sarnia-Port Huron, and the forthcoming Gordie Howe International Bridge. Automotive, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, aerospace. If your documentation isn't ready, this is where you find out.

The Traffic Is Shifting

Blue Water Bridge just overtook Ambassador.

For decades, the Ambassador Bridge at Windsor-Detroit was the busiest commercial crossing on the US–Canada border. In 2025, that changed. Driven by toll economics — up to $27 per axle at Ambassador versus $7 at Blue Water — trucking companies rerouted north. Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia handled roughly 2.1 million commercial truck trips in 2025, compared to 1.9 million at Windsor. The trend has continued into 2026.

This shift matters — but not the way you might think. The documentation problem doesn't care which bridge a truck uses. CBP and CBSA apply identical standards at every port of entry. An invoice mismatch is wrong at Windsor. It's wrong at Sarnia. It's wrong at Buffalo.

When the Gordie Howe International Bridge opens in 2026, capacity will spread even further across the region. Peregon sits upstream of every one of these crossings.

Why It Matters

Volume magnifies every error.

At 11,000+ trucks per day across the region, a 1% documentation-error rate is more than 110 flagged shipments daily — each carrying its own delay, its own exposure, its own audit footprint. The region rewards operational discipline, and punishes the lack of it.

Peregon sits upstream. Every importer shipping through Windsor-Detroit, Sarnia-Port Huron, or the new Gordie Howe crossing benefits from the same pre-border validation the largest automakers already demand from their suppliers.
